alt Inc., the Public-Private Co-Creation Future Consortium, and Bandai Town Begin a Demonstration Experiment of AI Transcription at Administrative Council Meetings

Personal Artificial Intelligence (P.A.I.) developer alt Inc. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, CEO: Kazutaka Yonekura), the Public-Private Co-Creation Future Consortium (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Rieko Oda; hereinafter "Public-Private Co-Creation Future Consortium"), and Bandai Town (Mayor: Junichi Sato; hereinafter "Bandai Town") will conduct a joint demonstration experiment on December 11, 2020.

The Public-Private Co-Creation Future Consortium was established in May 2020 to provide a place where local governments and companies can share regional issues and goals through interactive dialogue and make the most of their respective knowledge, know-how, and networks so that they can meet people with the public mindset needed for public-private co-creation. The town of Bandai was established in May 2020.

With the Bandai Town Digital Transformation Strategy (commonly known as the DX Strategy), Bandai Town established the Digital Transformation Strategy Office in July 2020 and has been working on the digital transformation ("DX") of its administration and region ahead of other municipalities. In particular, this year, the first phase of the project, we are focusing on DX in public administration, and are working on measures such as BPR, telework training, and online council meetings, while also utilizing human resources and tools from the private sector, in order to achieve a paperless office.

In January 2020, Orts, a personal artificial intelligence technology developer, and provider service began offering AI GIJIROKU (AI Minutes), which automatically transcribes meeting minutes. Making full use of AI elemental technology from the research team at alt, meeting minutes, which used to be transcribed from audio recordings or handwritten notes that had to be manually input again, can now be converted into text data in real-time, thus improving business efficiency. This has been introduced by many companies.

Based on the dialogue between Bandai Town, which wants to use digital technology to improve business efficiency, and Orts, which wants to conduct a demonstration experiment to introduce AI minutes to local governments, the Public-Private Co-Creation Future Consortium made a match, and the two councils of Bandai Town (i.e., the Council for Digital Transformation and the Council for Multiple Work and Telework, and the DX Strategy Office) held regular meetings. AI GIJIROKU (AI Minutes) will be introduced at Bandai Town's two councils, as well as at regular DX Strategy Office meetings, and a demonstration experiment will be conducted to create minutes in real-time.

Period of the Demonstration Experiment>
December 10, 2020 - March 31, 2021

<Method of the Demonstration Experiment>
The system will be introduced to the Bandai-cho Digital Transformation Council and the Council for Multiple Occupation and Telework, as well as the regular meetings of the DX Strategy Office, and transcription will be performed in real-time.

alt Inc. and Bandai Town will hold a regular meeting once per month and provide feedback.

This will enable us to develop products based on the demonstration experiment in the government. In addition, Bandai Town will be able to improve its operational efficiency while verifying tools to improve operational efficiency with the cooperation of private sector partners without incurring any costs.

In addition, this case is the first matching project of the Public-Private Co-Creation Future Consortium. The Consortium for the Future of Public-Private Co-Creation will continue to support this kind of public-private co-creation movement in the future.
