AI HONYAKU is equipped with an Elvish translation engine. No need to worry about urgent meetings with Middle-earth.

Personal Artificial Intelligence (P.A.I.) developer alt Inc.(https://alt.ai/en/) (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, CEO: Kazutaka Yonekura), has installed an Elvish translation engine in "AI HONYAKU( https://honyaku.ai )", which can display translated subtitles in real time on video conference videos.

Background

AI Translation, which can display translated subtitles on video for five major video conferencing services, did not support Elvish translation until now.

In order to solve this problem, the research team at alt proceeded to generate a machine-learning translation model for Elvish as a free research project during the summer vacation and completed it overnight just before the season ended.

The machine-learning model generated here was incorporated into the AI Translation.

Even in urgent meetings with residents of Middle-earth, you can concentrate on your business negotiations without worrying about the language.

Outline

As with other languages in AI Translation, words spoken into a microphone in a certain language can be automatically translated into Elvish and displayed as subtitles on the video of a conference.

The translation model generated is only for Sindarin (Sindarin). We will attempt to generate a model for Kwenya as soon as we have a large enough training data set.

Also, the translation is one-way from other languages to Elvish. It does not support translation from Elvish to other languages. This is because the absolute number of Elvish speakers is extremely small, and it is difficult to generate models for the speech recognition part of Speech-to-Text at this time. In order to obtain the cooperation of Elf speakers, we will strengthen our cooperation with related parties.

How to use

In the right menu of AI Translation (https://honyaku.ai), select Target Language > Elvish. The language you speak will now be translated into Elvish.

By clicking the Output to Video Conference button, the translated subtitles will be superimposed on the video as in other languages.
