alt conference 2023 Program Outline

Kazutaka Yonekura, CEO, alt Inc.

“5 Years from Now > 10 Years from Now: The Transition of Humanity's Value Needs”

In this session, I will discuss the prospective impact of generative AI on Japan and the world at large. I will also introduce our new AI clones and invite you to share in our anticipation of what's to come.

Hitoshi Nishikawa, Executive Officer and CTO, alt Inc.

“Good thing, you have to keep running as fast as you can to stay in the same place.”

Drawing from Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking-Glass" and the "Red Queen Hypothesis," we will explore how advancements in generative AI have enabled computers to imitate human activities such as composing, drawing, and writing. Considering the creative potential of mimicry, it becomes apparent that many tasks we perform are not inherently creative. Adapting to technological progression and maintaining pace can only keep us in the current position. To advance, we must accelerate – we need to "run at least twice as fast!" In this discussion, I will elaborate on how we aim to transition from a "slow country" to a "normal country," and why we need not focus on slowing down.

Junya Iizuka, BEO, alt Inc.

“New Normal of Intellectual Production (New Normal) + LLM platform”

In this talk, I will discuss the implications and specific applications of generative AI and large language models, both of which are becoming indispensable tools for business professionals. We'll explore how those who purchase, use, and create AI should interact. Together, we will delve into the new normal in intellectual production.

Yoshikazu Nishimura, CSO, alt Inc.

“STACK & EMETH Data Storage Technologies and Computational Resources to Support Personal AI”

With the rapid rise of generative AI and large-scale language models, there has been much discussion recently about how to handle training data. Specifically, the "personal AI" that alt is developing requires training and tuning based on each individual's lifelong data. This requires keen attention to both the privacy and security of the training data and the resultant "models." I will elaborate on our concept of distributed data privacy management with STACK and highlight the significance of preserving data privacy during computations with EMETH. We will also consider what we, as a Japan-based company, the "Alliance of AI Companies" in Japan, and EMETH can contribute amidst the ongoing international competition to construct large-scale language models.

Yusuke Hioki, Director and CFO, alt Inc.

“Capital Markets and Innovation – Working Backwards from Japan's Global Win with Generative AI”

Is there a positive correlation between KPI design and innovation? How are expectations created and transformed into value? Are there planned surprises? What is the value creation of Japanese technology companies, what challenges do they face, and how can they win in this field? Join me to explore the answers to these questions and more.

Atsushi Okabe, BEO, alt Inc.

“Medical AI and the Business Models Derived from It”

The commercial applications of generative AI and LLMs continue to evolve. With the downgrading of COVID-19 to a Class 5 status, there is a pressing need to leverage AI in the medical field, which has been somewhat sidelined until now. This use of AI aims to promote medical safety and instigate reform in healthcare professionals' work methods, ultimately restoring the original state of healthcare. The discussion will also include applications from numerous medical fields that require closed-loop utilization, as well as the employment of LHTM-2 and EMETH.

Tatsuya Kawaguchi, Manager, AI SaaS Division, alt Inc.

“Accelerate Your Business by Making Primary Data an Asset”

Every day in business, a vast amount of communication occurs both internally and externally. To effectively harness this communication, it's common to document meeting minutes. However, relying on memory and interpretation for these minutes can lead to numerous challenges.

While minute-taking tools are employed to reduce workload and mitigate risks, it's crucial that the valuable primary information gleaned from these minutes doesn't simply lie dormant as records. Instead, this primary information and the company's collective knowledge should be utilized to bolster business strategy.
