With this in mind, the conference will showcase a presentation titled “AI in the 21st Century.”
At this conference, we’ll ask the question, “How will the world change with the progress of AI?” Speakers will discuss the latest trends in generative AI, including GPT and other large-scale language models, along with the future of generative AI. We will also showcase our new product, LHTM-2, and reveal a system currently under development.
We’re excited to welcome three special guests: Yusuke Narita, an economist and data scientist active in Japan and globally; Koji Hashimoto, a prominent theoretical physicist; and Takahiro Ikushima from the Institute of Advanced Mathematical Technology. They will participate in a panel discussion exploring the theme of destruction and creation prompted by generative AI.

Yusuke Narita, Economist and Data Scientist
At night, he is an assistant professor at Yale University in the US; by day, he is the president of Half-Baked Virtual Corporation in Japan. He specializes in imagining and designing business and public policy using data, algorithms, mathematics, and poetry. Narita's research, which extends across artificial intelligence and machine learning, has been published in numerous prestigious journals. He has also collaborated on research projects with notable organizations including CyberAgent, ZOZO, Yahoo! JAPAN, Mercari, Sony, and various cities such as New York, Chicago, and Toda City. A graduate of the University of Tokyo, Narita furthered his studies at MIT where he obtained his Ph.D. His notable publications include "Democracy in the 22nd Century: Elections are Algorithms, and Politicians are Cats."
Koji Hashimoto, Professor, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University
He is a renowned Professor at the Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University, and a respected theoretical physicist. As the Representative of "Creation of Learning Physics," a cutting-edge research project integrating physics and AI by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), he champions scientific innovation. Additionally, Hashimoto serves as the Special Chair of Learning Physics at Kyoto University. His distinguished service includes roles on the board of the Physical Society of Japan, and memberships with MEXT and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). His specialties span theoretical physics, particle theory, and string theory. Hashimoto, who has delivered over 100 invited lectures globally, currently serves as the successor professor in the laboratory originally led by Hideki Yukawa. A keen advocate for the intersection of science and art, Hashimoto's performing art piece, "Every day is a new beginning," earned him the Kyoto University President's Award at the Art Innovation 2019 International Conference. He is also an influential voice on Twitter with a following of 20,000, bridging the gap between scientists and society.
Takahiro Ikushima, Mathematical Advanced Technology Research Institute
He has led the company's research and development initiatives in areas such as numerical computation, formula processing, control systems, machine learning, high-performance computing, knowledge systems, and AI since its inception in 2007. Ikushima's target fields include nuclear fusion, space, material structure, biotechnology, medicine, and finance, where he provides solutions to some of their most pressing issues. Recently, he has been studying AI trends relevant to philosophy, ethics, sociology, political science, and economics while organizing a project on creativity for the Japanese Society of Omics Medicine. Ikushima envisions the Singularity as the day when AI wins the Fields Prize in theoretical physics and mathematics.

Considering the creative potential of mimicry, it becomes apparent that many tasks we perform are not inherently creative. Adapting to technological progression and maintaining pace can only keep us in the current position. To advance, we must accelerate – we need to "run at least twice as fast!" In this discussion, I will elaborate on how we aim to transition from a "slow country" to a "normal country," and why we need not focus on slowing down.
