alt Inc. and Video Research Launch Asclone, a Next-Generation Marketing Research Service
Asclone is a next-generation marketing research service that utilizes AI technology to generate digital clones with survey-specific attributes and obtains responses through interactive interviews.

alt Inc.(, a Japan based developer of AI Clone and Personal Artificial Intelligence (P.A.I.®️) (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan; CEO: Kazutaka Yonekura), in collaboration with Video Research Ltd. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Wataru Mochizuki, President & CEO; hereinafter "Video Research"), will begin offering "Asclone," which generates a digital clone of a virtual survey respondent to conduct an interactive interview and obtain responses.




Video Research has developed "Research 4.0"*1 as a next-generation marketing research methodology that incorporates AI technology. Since February 2021, they have been running a pilot study for a survey system utilizing digital clones, in partnership with alt. As an initial outcome of this experiment, a service enabling users to generate digital clones capable of responding to questions has been implemented.


The newly introduced Asclone service allows users to engage digital "individuals" with distinct personalities in an unrestricted interview, harnessing alt's personal AI technology. Users can log in via a PC or smartphone browser, produce a digital clone with the desired persona, and conduct a text-based interactive interview at their convenience. Unlike traditional face-to-face questionnaires, the digital clone questionnaire operates at the user's pace, with no constraints on time, location, or question quantity. The persona of the digital clone can be modified as required. It also serves as a tool for obtaining fresh insights and ideas by repeating questions. The system addresses the critical concern of personal data protection in surveys and enables handling of sensitive questions that necessitate utmost caution during human interviews. 


By developing and providing Research 4.0, a marketing research method using digital cloning technology, alt and Video Research aim to transform the current state of research and revolutionize the information business.

Asclone is a subscription service accessible anywhere with an internet connection, via browser login. In addition to generating a digital clone persona based on a combination of factors like residential area, gender, age, and occupation, the user's interest in the "issue/topic" they want to investigate is also considered. During generation, ACR/ex, Video Research's comprehensive single-source data that surveys consumer attributes, product involvement, media contact, and more, is referenced.
