alt Inc. receives patent for mass generation of training material for motion recognition models

Personal Artificial Intelligence (P.A.I.) developer alt Inc. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, CEO: Kazutaka Yonekura), is pleased to announce that we have completed the acquisition of a patent for a device and program for providing multiple video data showing the movement of an object.

In recent years, the accuracy of the machine and deep learning models has improved remarkably. On the other hand, the collection of training materials required for learning has become a major burden, and the ethical aspect of handling training materials, especially those related to video images, is being discussed as a new issue.

The patent that we have just completed covers technology for generating a large number of video images in which the movements of objects, including humans, contain small errors in the physical space and within the movable range of the objects themselves. It also automatically generates a myriad of information about the environment in which the object is placed and the direction in which it is photographed.

This makes it possible to obtain a sufficient amount of training material for improving the accuracy of the machine and deep learning without considering copyright and ethical issues.
